Philip Knodle has joined BrightSpot Automation
Phil Knodle has joined BrightSpot Automation as Principal Software Engineer. He will further develop the IMPEL software for our Electroluminescence and Photoluminescence inspection systems, including the introduction of machine learning based defect detection. He will also work on product development of our new line of high-throughput UV Fluorescence imaging systems. Previously Phil contributed to the life sciences at TissueVision where he developed and implemented image acquisition electronics and related software in their TissueCyte Imaging Platform. At Fraunhofer USA he designed and implemented control systems for custom lab and automation equipment. Phil, a graduate of Boston University, has over 15 years of experience designing and implementing scientific instrumentation, industrial automation, embedded systems, and motion control systems.
Phil is also an installation artist who focuses on the intersection between the physical and digital world.
