We are a registered provider of continuing education through NABCEP.
These courses are available upon request and at future conferences/tradeshows. Both of the following courses can be offered together:
Electroluminescence Defect Testing of Solar Panels
In this course you will learn:
- The background theory behind electroluminescence (EL) in solar cells
- The reasons solar cells can form cracks
- How to handle solar panels to avoid cell cracking
- How to use an EL camera testing kit through hands-on testing
- How to enhance EL images
- How to interpret EL images to identify a variety of defects including closed cracks, open cracks, Potential Induced Degradation (PID), relatively harmless marks from wafer and cell processing, and shunting in thin film panels
Ultraviolet Fluorescence Defect Testing of Solar Panels
In this course you will learn:
- The background theory behind Ultraviolet Fluorescence (UVF) in aged solar panels
- The reasons solar cells can form cracks
- How to handle solar panels to avoid cell cracking
- How to use an UVF testing kit through hands-on testing
- How to enhance UVF images
- How to interpret UVF images, including ways to determine how long ago solar cell cracks formed
